We were told by the builder to plan for approximately 3000 sq
ft. This is the concept our committee came up with. The
sanctuary can seat 135. Removable partitions can make four
classrooms out of the sanctuary. The area on the south side (with the
two sheds) is just a concrete slab. We would build the
sheds. The design features a ramp to the bima. The bima
would actually only be about a foot high. The sanctuary has lots
of windows. The rabbi's office has a bathroom with a shower
recognizing that initially we won't have a home for a rabbi. So
the rabbi's office could be an option for a visiting rabbi to stay
overnight in.
